Teri Ferguson, RN, BSN
Teri Ferguson's 30 plus years of nursing experience began with an initial background in mental health as a Nursing Supervisor of an alcohol and drug inpatient treatment program; Assistant Director of Nursing at a psychiatric hospital; Program Director of an adolescent, adult and geriatric day treatment program and Director of Nursing at an Assisted Living working with patients dealing with Alzheimer’s.
In her later years, Teri felt called to serve in a different capacity and established a Parish Nurse Program within a hospital system in Tennessee, orienting and training 30 parish nurses, while volunteering in her own church as parish nurse for 10 years. She most recently was instrumental in the startup of a mobile clinic in Appalachia serving the working poor and uninsured by recruiting and training nurse volunteers. She and her husband Brian are blessed with two married sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. “Starting NSON is just the culmination of a lifetime dream to serve as a Faith Community Nurse with other nurses who have been called to advocate for the most vulnerable in our community.”
